Bus payment guides in Greece
Greek island bus systems are usually run by regional KTEL operators and are still largely cash-on-board. Airport and port routes are the highest-friction journeys for visitors.
Rhodes
On KTEL Rhodes buses you pay the driver in cash — bank cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are not accepted on board. From Rhodes Town buy at the station kiosk first; from other stops pay the driver. The airport bus to town is about €2.50.

Corfu's blue city buses want you to buy before boarding — at the Saroko (San Rocco) Square kiosk, vending machines or kiosks. You can still pay cash on board, but it costs more, and cards aren't accepted on the bus. Zone A is about €1.30, Zone B about €1.80.

Santorini's KTEL buses are cash-only — pay the driver or the conductor who comes round after you sit down. No cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay on board. Most routes run through Fira, and fares are about €1.80–€2.80 (a bit more on the night port bus).
